A simple roasted chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken (about 1.5 kg)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, and oregano), optional

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season it generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Brush the chicken with olive oil and place it in a roasting pan.
  4. Roast the chicken for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 75 degrees Celsius when measured with a meat thermometer.
  5. Let the chicken rest for about 10 minutes before carving and serving.

Optional: You can add fresh herbs to the chicken before roasting it for extra flavor. Try tying a few sprigs of fresh rosemary and thyme together with kitchen twine and tucking them under the skin of the chicken before roasting. You can also sprinkle some fresh oregano over the chicken before roasting it.
